How to move from Bingers to emberslate
Export your data from Bingers
Ask Bingers for a copy of your data. It arrives as a ZIP of CSV files. Leave it zipped; there is no need to unpack it.
Install emberslate
emberslate is available now on Google Play for Android. Install it and sign in.
Import and review
Choose Bingers in emberslate's import and pick the ZIP. You see what matched, how many episodes and films were found, and can deselect anything before it is saved.
Apply it
Apply the import to your library. Nothing already in your emberslate library is overwritten.
What carries over
- Your series and films, matched by TMDB id
- Every watched episode and film, with its date where Bingers has one
- Repeat plays, counted as rewatches
- Your favourites, and your ratings: Bingers' stars become emberslate's ten-point scale
- Titles marked for later go to your queue; ones you stopped or hid land in Dropped
Watches Bingers holds without a date arrive undated, and emberslate does not make up a day for them. Your custom lists, episode ratings, moods and favourite characters stay behind, because emberslate has nowhere to put them.

Moving from Bingers
Does emberslate sync with Bingers?
No. emberslate imports a Bingers export file once. It does not connect to your Bingers account or keep the two in sync, so after the import you track in emberslate.
What carries over from Bingers?
Your series and films, watched episodes and films with their dates, repeat plays as rewatches, favourites and ratings. You review the matches before anything is applied, and the import never overwrites entries already in your emberslate library.
What stays behind?
Your custom lists, plus episode ratings, moods and favourite characters. emberslate reads only your library, watches and ratings from the export.
How are my ratings converted?
Bingers rates in stars out of five, including half stars. emberslate rates out of ten, so each half star becomes one point: four stars arrives as 8.
Is emberslate free?
Yes. All emberslate features are currently free, including release reminders, quiet hours, themes, advanced stats and your full timeline history. There is no advertising in the app. Pricing may change as the app grows, and we will explain any change before it affects you.
Is my export stored?
The uploaded file is read in memory and not saved as a file on our servers. The review staging is deleted when you apply or cancel the import, or automatically after seven days.
Is emberslate on iPhone?
Not at the moment. emberslate is an Android app, available now on Google Play. No other platforms have been announced.
Is emberslate connected to Bingers?
No. emberslate is an independent app made by emberfold labs. It is not affiliated with Bingers; it reads the export file Bingers provides.
